Network Engineer

NucoreVision, Incorporated is currently looking for experienced Network Engineers to work on several federal government initiatives. Under the general direction of a manager, this candidate helps users achieve optimum use of their computer networks by performing needs analysis, procurement support, installation, training and problem resolution for the local and wide area networks. The candidate is responsible for configuration, operation, and administration of network server hardware, operating systems, and communications links. The candidate will also define and implement solutions to integrate desktop and shared devices into local and wide area networks and/or other host-based networks; as well as plan installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities. Dependent on the opportunity, the candidate may review existing network designs and capabilities with the goal of making refinements, enhancing network throughput, and improving current network topologies. The candidate will apply their expertise to sensitive government systems and networks requiring specialized security features and procedures. An additional responsibility may include supporting the development, implementation, and operation of ISS-enabling technologies, processes, and procedures into systems and networks.

Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. Degree or five (5) or more years of related experience required
• Extensive experience with Cisco and/or Juniper Routers and Switches
• Experience with working with and troubleshooting Virtual Private Networks (VPN),
• Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Firewalls.
• Experience with Network Management Packages (HP Openview, Solarwinds, Ciscoworks)
• Experience with Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIRGP)
• Experience with VLAN’s, VLAN Trunking and Inter VLan Routing
• Experience with ATM and Frame Relay
• Ability to obtain a DoD government clearance
• MCSE, CCNA, or CCNP certification is a plus
