Senior IT Security Engineer

NucoreVision, Incorporated is currently looking for an experienced Senior IT Security Engineer to support efforts on several federal government information security initiatives. This candidate will be responsible for working with the security team to implement and refine the network and systems design and architecture ensuring all systems meet acceptable security standards. The candidate will conduct technical risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems and produce system and/or site documentation. The candidate will also be responsible for configuring and managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and intrusion prevention systems when necessary; Conducting routine vulnerability scans on networks, applications, and other systems; and creating, developing, and testing contingency and disaster recovery plans. The candidate will manage and/or mentor junior security engineers and provide technical advisement to Client on information security related concerns, when requested.

Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant subject area; professional experience can be supplemented for education
• 5+ years of professional experience within the Information Security field
• Prior management experience is a plus
• Experience with documenting security plans, procedures, policies, and standards required
• Extensive experience with configuring and maintaining firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and intrusion prevention systems
• Extensive experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments
• Experience with virtual private networks (VPNs) and virtual private local area networks (VLANs)
• Prior federal government experience preferred
• Experience with NIST, DITSCAP, DIACAP, FISMA, and other DoD Information Assurance requirements is preferred
• Strong writing, editing, and communications skills required
• Currently possess or have the ability to obtain a DoD government clearance required
• CISSP and/or CCNP certification is a plus
