IT Security Engineer

NucoreVision, Incorporated is currently looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer to support efforts on several federal government information security initiatives. This candidate will be responsible for working with the security team to implement and refine the network and systems design and architecture. The candidate will ensure all systems meet acceptable security standards and conduct technical risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems. The candidate will produce system and/or site documentation. The candidate will also be responsible for configuring and managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and intrusion prevention systems when necessary; Conducting routine vulnerability scans on networks, applications, and other systems; Assisting with the development and testing of contingency and disaster recovery plans. The candidate will provide technical advisement to Client on information security related concerns, when requested.

Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant subject area; professional experience can be supplemented for education.
• 3-5 years of professional experience within the Information Security field
• Experience with documenting security plans, procedures, policies, and standards required.
• Extensive experience with configuring and maintaining firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and intrusion prevention systems
• Extensive experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments
• Experience with virtual private networks (VPNs) and virtual private local area networks (VLANs)
• Prior federal government experience preferred.
• Experience with NIST, DITSCAP, DIACAP, FISMA, and other DoD Information Assurance requirements is preferred
• Strong writing, editing, and communications skills required
• Currently possess or have the ability to obtain a DoD government clearance required
• CISSP and/or CCNP certification is a plus
